It looks like a romantic love story, but Pope Francis and his wife, Beatrice, aren’t quite ready to let it go.
“You’ll see,” he told the Associated Press in an interview published Monday.
The pontiff and his bride, Beatrix, are heading to a private Caribbean cruise ship in the Bahamas on Sunday to attend a reception and wedding to honor her 75th birthday.
A statement from the Vatican said they will take a “private flight to a Caribbean resort in the Caribbean, where they will celebrate their nuptials.”
The pope was due to attend the reception at a luxury resort in St. Maarten.
His spokesman, Federico Lombardi, said the pontiff is in St Martin-en-Laye, France, and that the couple is not in the city of St. Pierre and Miquelon.
He is staying in a hotel in the southern French city of Nice.
The pontiff will not attend a church service, the Vatican statement said.
