A bridal dressmaker who designed wedding gowns for more than 50 countries won the prestigious award at the inaugural Bauhaus International Bridal Design Competition on Wednesday.
The ceremony took place at the Frankfurt International Architecture Festival.
It was the first time that a bridal designer won the award, which is presented annually to the best in the field.
The winner was awarded the German award for Design of the Year, which goes to the top professional in a category of bridal design.
The winning designer was Dario D’Albani, whose company DarioDalia is based in Rome.
It specializes in bridal gowns, and its design for the bride’s dress was one of the most successful in the competition.
The company says that Dario had worked for a number of brides, but that he has always been a “designer who makes the world look great.”
The winner also won the French prize for Design Award, which was given to the most outstanding piece of architecture.
